Hi just looking for some help on a little upgrade. I have the opportunity to sell a few of my existing computer parts, Athlon 64 4000+, Asus A8N-SLI Premium along with 2gig of GeIL value ram. Going to keep my current gfx (7800gtx) card for now until I can get hold of some extra cash, looking to spend in the region of £250-300 (cheaper the better) at the moment and since I’m not really up to date with a lot of the new cpu’s/mobos and ram configurations could you have quick check over this spec and see if there is anything you would change.

Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail

Asus P5K Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (would a cheaper board be just as good?)

GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC)

£294 all in

Will be running on windows xp32 bit, with a possible upgrade to vista 64 in the future, not really fussed about oc’ing but it is a possibility.

Cheers,

Richy.
