I have just got my bonus from work and would like to donate around £300 to my rig - haf912 plus case , i5 2500k @ 4.0 ghz , artic cooler 13, 8 gig corsair vengance ram , 7870xt sapphire gpu , 2x 240 ssd and 1 tb mechanical ,Cooler Master Silent PRO GOLD 600W , 24 inch 1080p samsung monitor and a rather old saitek eclipse keyboard ( i just got a new sensei raw mouse at chrimbo). I plan on purchasing the rift later this year if it's available and have also been offered £110 for my gpu if i choose to upgrade that . I was thinking of a new mechanical keyboard (red switches) , a new cpu cooler (i foolishly never realised the artic was only a 92mm fan) and was contemplating the 290 tri x that's on the weekly.
Would the 290 be overkill at 1080 or for the rift? and would my psu be fine?..or should i be investing my money in something else?
