HI, im not sure if there are any other threads regarding internet speeds, as my computer is currently unable to search as, due to the internet speed itself, it keeps timing out.
Until recently I was enjoying 130mbps on my wireless, when my USB adapter broke. So, I bought another one, cheaper but just as good on recommendation of my housemate. Now the signal strength is stronger between my computer and the router, but the speed averages at 6.5 mbps... not the fastest thing in the world.
I'm probably being really thick and have forgotten something really simple, but can't for the life of me figure this one out. Any help guys?

ok, i used driver cleaner for the old drivers, im on xp pro and the isp is 8meg. Its weird though, because like I was saying, I was running at 130 with no problems at all. I've just started using a spare g draft usb pen, and thats working at 54 mbps... could it be the new adapter is buggered?

edit: turned out to be a driver issue with the manufacturer. Sorted now :)
