Ok unfortunatly asus probe doesn't work with vista :( so I am using speedfan to check temps. The problem is there are 12 different temperatures showing and I cant work out which ones are important and which are not. I'm running an X2 4400 on an Asus A8N SLI Deluxe.

I know what some of the more obvious ones are and ones that are completly wrong and can be thrown but I dont really know what the other ones correspond to.

HD1,2,3 are the hard drives
The 2 'Temp' 0C are I assume sensers that aren't there so dont matter.
I assume that 'core' is the X2 temp

The others such as 'temp1,2,3', 'remote temp' and local temp I don't have a clue.

Any help would be apreciated.

Thanks :)

local/remote temp = Graphics Card Temp Sensors.
Core = CPU digital diode sensor
it looks like Temp1 is the case tmeperature but measured in a place with bad airflow, and Temp2 is the motherboard CPU-socket temp sensor

press F2 on the labels in 'Configure' to rename them to what you want

Thanks jNive.

So i assume the remote temp is the GFX core temp and the local temp is the ambient temp of the card? (6800GT)

Could Temp1 be the northbridge temperature as opposed to the case temp? I switched the stock fan for a passive cooled HS which would explain the warmer temperature.

Any Ideas what Temp2 and 3 and the second Temp1 are? They are definitly attached to something as they change. Could one be the PSU temp.? Although I don't think i attached anything to the MB.

Thanks
