Ok we now have

Pc ,ipad, ps3 and phones sharing our broadband at home.

Am a bit sick of converting films and tv to different formats to watch on each bit of hardware.

What the best solution to share pictures, films etc?

good question - got a 32" in bedroom, 32" in living room, wii (wi-fi enabled), laptop, and pc.

My pc does the d/loading and to watch:

a. d/loads on bedroom tv, i have to hook up laptop and convert files and burn to dvd (or transfer files across)

b. d/loads on living room tv, i have to convert files and burn to dvd.

Would tversity work for me (no PS3) and if so, how does it work?!

Not used PS3 media server but I'm pretty sure you don't need a PS3 to use it, I think it was first designed for use with a ps3 but it actually runs on a PC.

Used tversity with my xbox 360, to sum it all sum tversity keeps a library of all your media and will transcode it in to different formats on the fly when accessing via different devices.

Not sure how it will work with so many different devices but give it a test..

Although if your just playing files on your TV I'd personally get a couple of HTPC's and but XBMC on it.
