hey, need a little help here

Have sky hd and the ps3 connected to a Samsung LE40856 via hdmi
the sky hd is connected to the dz-260 via optical

want to get surround sound from the ps3 for games, so i was thinking of getting a digital coax cable to connect the sky hd to the dz-260 and then using the digital optical to connect the ps3 to the dz-260. what im wondering , is how do i select on the dz-260 that i want to use the ps3 audio rather than the sky hd audio.

anybody have any suggestions
Thanks!!

read the manual? i would expect there either to be an input button or just turn off the sky and it switches.

Alternatively you can get toslink switches for about £10 from a popular auction site

read it back to front, couldnt find anything to help me,

as it stands, skyhd and ps3 connected via hdmi
optical from amp to ps3
coax from amp to skyhd

still no sound from the ps3, changed the settings to optical in the menu, turning off the sky doesnt make any differnence either.

its gettin on my nerves now, just wanna watch band of brothers on blu ray!!!

Edit: I think I found the manuals online. The LN40A530 was the closest I could find to your model, though. If you have 3 HDMI inputs on the TV:

PS3 to Samsung LE40856 via HDMI 1
SkyHD to Samsung LE40856 via HDMI 2
DZ-260 to Samsung LE40856 via HDMI 3

Samsung LE40856 to DZ-260 via Digital Optical

If you don't have an HDMI 3 or you would prefer not to cable out the side of the TV, then use Component cables for the SkyHD.

The input select on your TV should then determine which source has the audio.

According to page 15 on the manual (downloaded from Sony site) you can use the Coax or optical so I guess you will have to unplug which ever your not using at the time or you could buy a Optical Cable Splitter - 2 Way, both the PS3 and SkyHD connect to the splitter via optical and the splitter connects to the dz-260

many thanks for the replies, @ rasit, ive been told that setting it up this way will not allow full 5.1 surround sound passing through the tv to the sound system, i have 3 rear hdmi so everything's ok there, guess ill just have to plug the optical into the tv and see what happens! thanks again

well i set it up the way u mentioned connecting the tv to the amp via optical, and it works beautifully, sound is very very good, opening sequence in transformers is epic and band of brothers aswell, battle of the bulge episodes are loud and huge thumps of bass now and then, ps3 games aswell are awesome!!
thanks for your help on this one!
