Hey guys, posted a while back about this issue but ended up swamped in Exams so had to leave FO4 behind!

Now I have some spare time:) ive updated the driver run an antivirus and malware scan and still, even on the very lowest settings possible I cannot smoothly run FO4! It just lags behind my keystrokes and movement making combat very hard and enjoyment impossible.

Specs of Laptop are

CPU- i7- 4710HQ
RAM 8GB
GPU- 870m 6gb

Any ideas what else I could do to try run it?:confused:

Drop everything to low and turn powersaving off in your control panel should work your pc can run crysis 3 so im sure it can run fallout 4 atleast on low.

what's the screen res?

If it's running at 4k, try running it at 1080p (well whatever is a '1/4') and see if it helps.

Possibly already mentioned, but if you have switchable graphics make sure it's running on the discrete GPU rather than the Intel one.

Another thing is ports. For some insane reason my laptop only uses the geforce card on the VGA port. The HDMI port always uses the integrated graphics, no matter how I set it up.

I think there is a mod on Nexus mods that has tweaked all the textures so they are less taxing on the system. might be worth a go. Think its under Fallout 4 - Texture Optimization Project

Hi are you able to use MSI Afterburner on screen display whilst gaming, it'll show you what frame you are getting so you can tell if any tweaks you do are having an impact. It'll also allow you to see if your card is running at max speed, or if you are using the Intel gpu.
