Help with table width please

A friend is having problems with his site, specifically the tables. He's been trying to change the width so it covers the page left to right using 1280*1024 res. Apparently the tables need to have a width of 900 but it's not working. I'll put the website below and if some kind soul could point me in the right direction please.
