Currently have a h100 and although its not bad, theres always better, so started going down my first custom watercooling route.

Specs are:

Thermaltake level 10 GT chassis
I5 2500k currently overclocked to 4.7Ghz
Asrock Extreme7 Gen 3 MB
Currently a nasty radeon 4870 but will be getting a 7970 depending on price etc and would like to WC this too eventually.

Will be selling the h100 so no parts are salvageable from that. I do have 2 x gentle typhoon 1850's already if useable.

Have already bought the OCUK pump and top deal and will be with me tomorrow:

Would like a double 5.25" reservoir. Mainly to keep the install tidy and also i love the look of these. Possibly the Koolance RP-452X2 if they ever come
back into stock as it will house the pump nicely.

I think the case is my limiting factor as it will only take a 240 rad at the top and then possibly a 120 at the rear top or base. Suppose i could do this with a hose joining the 2? Bit cramped inside though. I have no kids so the best way for me i think is to get an external 360 rad with some sort of bracket to mount from the top rear 120mm fan. Not quite sure which would be best as i do not want to drill into the case.

Also, are the Ek compression fittings a good choice? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-123-EK&groupid=962&catid=1529&subcat=2079

Budget not really an issue, within reason, maybe another £350 ish.

So what would you recommend to complete the install and how.

Yeah the Level 10 isn't the greatest for mounting radiators so your best bet if you don't want to run multiple rads is a single 360 externally mounted on the rear exhaust. Most radiator brackets should work - have a look for the pulse modding ones or koolance brackets.

Looking at your proposed components you should have great temps with a single 360 rad. I haven't heard much about EK fittings, but personally I just use cheap ones and they still look great and perform functionally, so the EK ones should do well.

Thanks for that. Ideally i dont want to drill the case if i can avoid it. Would also like to be able to mount it below the top of the case so its not protruding like the koolance. So would need something strong enough to hold it on the top fan mountings of the rad. Any ideas?

I believe a 240 will fit in the top, as it has standard fan mounting holes and so it will be strong enough to hold a rad there without any additional mounting tools.

Sorry, didnt explain that very well. On the outside of the case i do not want the radiator poking up from behind. One option is the koolance and then a homemade rest for the bottom of the rad to stop it bending towards the case if you know what i mean.

So you don't want an external rad mounted? I don't really understand what you mean by "homemade rest for the bottom of the rad to stop it bending towards the case".

The Koolance bracket was just a suggestion, there are other brackets such as the pulse modding bracket which hold it differently if that's what you are referring to.

EDIT: Although, if you just hold the rad from the top/first rad fan placement instead of the middle it will eliminate that 'protruding' look.

Do not want it visible from the front of the case such as:

So hence mounting it on the top of the 3 fan mounting points with a bracket to minimise the strain on the mounting points.

If you mount it like this:

it won't cause too much strain - most radiator brackets are very strong and can handle strain. So you shouldn't be able to see the rad directly if you are looking at it face on.

Ah cool, was not sure if it would be strong enough. Any ideas what that bracket is as i came across it while trying to find my answer.

Hi.

After measuring my Level 10 Gt the space in the top section is 19x34cm, officially it supports a 240mm rad but im hoping I could squeeze a 280mm in there such as the new Corsair H110 solution. Any suggestions on this, can find much on google about this either way..

Yes you can mount a 280mm rad on the top of the case. You have to take the white plastic on top off the case then line up rad with the 2 holes on the left. Then just see if there's enough clearance (it's in the right place) after you've had a look at the clearance, you will need to drill 2 holes at the right(you can do it differently but I used 2 holes that were already there to make it easier for myself). Easy to mod to do and doesn't take much time. Downside is some of the case metal sticks over and covers some of the rad up (so it restricts airflow a little) but it's never gave me temp issues or anything and it doesn't cover up much either. I used the coolermaster master liquid pro 280. Currently I'm wanting to mount a 360mm rad and I'm considering modding the case a fair bit to do that. But you can definitely fit that 280mm rad ,literally drill 2 holes and your done. That's probably one of the only ways of doing it,I doubt you can mount it without having to drill holes as Ive tried to find if I can mount it in all different places but I just decided to drill 2 holes and make my life easier lol.

Hope it helped !:-)
