I upgraded my MB disk to a 500G WD Scorpio Black from OCUK for £50 - nice...! Runs great, rebuilt the machine all cool.

I left some stuff on my old disk that I should have taken off and didn't. What are my options from getting this back? Could I just stick the old disk back in the MB, reboot it and back it up again? Will that work? Nothing in the BIOS that "knows" the boot drive has changed to the new disk and will throw a wobbler?

If I were to connect it to my PC as an additional disk (not the PC boot drive of course), would I be able to access the data from what is an OSX formatted drive from Win7?

What do you reckon?

Cheers, KS

You could grab a cheap USB>SATA caddy plug it in and drag the data off. Most likely best option and the caddys are always handy.

I did the same, put my original drive in a caddy and now use it as a USB drive for additional storage and backup.

A £10 USB caddy will act as a bootable disk. Assuming it allows USB booting. Or it will act as an external drive if you boot up using the wired-in one so you can just go Macintosh HD -> Users -> etc etc.
