I've had a torrid time fitting my Tuniq Tower. In the end I sheared off the head of one of the bolts. I was having difficulty screwing it in, and so used pliers :(. I think the resaon must be that I have crossthreaded the back plate that goes under the motherboard. I see 2 options (other than chucking away the bl**dy thing):

* Fit normal nuts and bolts (bit industrial, not in theory should work).
* Find out if Sunbeam do replacement parts?

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Pliers??? omg here's a tip have the use tape any tape to stick over the backplate and hold it in place with the holes in line then put the screws
in simple just tighten them til it requires quite a bit of pressure to go any further job done.

Yeah 2 of the screws go in reasonably easily. The other don't - which is why I think I've cross threaded the backplate.

I use nuts and bolts and wing nuts I bought from B&Q with my Tuniq Tower. I took a bolt with me so I knew the thickness/length was needed. The normal nuts are used to secure the backplate and bolts (I use rubber washers too so the nuts don't damage the motherboard) and the wing nuts make it very easy to bolt down the heatsink.

Do you need the backplate when you use normal nuts and bolts? What about those little spring thingies, did you still use them?
