Help with understanding equivilent mobile hardware

Hi guys my SO would like to get a gaming laptop that will be able to play whatever comes out for the next couple of years. Will I know desktop hardware fairly well at least benchmark wise I am less sure what are equivalent laptop parts are. What would I need to build a laptop capable of handling fallout 4 on ultra?

Fallout 4 not much.. Look at benchmarks of Witcher 3 on Ultra as it is one of the most demanding games out right now. If you want a power house of a laptop look at 980 (not a 980m) its same as desktop version maybe limited a bit by a cooling solution used in a laptop but is a very powerful card.

Or if you are looking for the potent yet still not too expensive option the 970M is the same step down from a 980 -> 970 from the 970 pretty much.
