Hi I currently have a AMD X2 6000+, MSI K9A board, 4Gb DDR2 and 4xSata in twin raid.

I'm not really getting on with the board and the chipset so I'm looking for something new.

-I want support for my current CPU and the possibility for upgrade to a X4 later on.
-PCIe2 Support (Crossfire support is not necessary)
-Good clocking options

There doesnt seem to be a huge amount of options out there so Im after some advice and opinions on chipsets and boards, thanks.

If you're looking at getting a new motherboard, you may as well go Intel
Why? Sounds to me like he just wants wants a better board for his current CPU & something a-bit more futuerproof not a complete overhaul!

OP I'd have a look at the new AMD 790GX chipset based mobos. Bit pricey though :(

The Foxconn A7DA-S (790GX) looks really nice and has had positive reviews so far (that I've seen). It would be my choice :)

been using the a7da -s 3.0 for a while now. whilst there are better boards out there based on 790gx, this is a great performer, and i got it for 75 quid - as good £20-25 cheaper than most other high end 790gx's

only thing is that northbridge multiplier adjuster dont seem to work in the bios...
