I currently have a e6300, DS3, and a BFG 7800GT i want to upgrade to a Q9450 when there released and iam thinking of matching it with a ASUS maximus board.
Iam a little stuck on what to do about the graphics card, i could either buy a 3870 x2 or wait for the new 9800 series  and also iam thinking of water cooling but i have no idea whats the best kits at the moment.
One last quick question, i have a seasonic M12 600w, will this be enough to power all this as ive got a feeling it might struggle.

Thx in advance

Seasonic M12 is one of the best you can buy so as long as you're not running crossfirex 3870x2 you'll be fine.

IIRC the 965p ds3 supports 45nm wolfy/yorky so check their website first you might not need a new mobo afterall.

Well the DS3 is still a very capable board and I'd imagine it will clock the quad no problem as well so unless you want max oc for your CPU the DS3 still holds its own. You can always get a new mobo later if the DS3 is no good.

The 3870X2 is certainly one of the best out there, and a better buy than an 8800Ultra however people say in actual games it doesn't feel a lot better than a 8800GTX.

So i suppose an ultra would save me a bit of cash?
I use my comp mostly for gaming and normal pc work, what about the processor? should i go with that ( Q9450 )

No the Ultra is slower and a lot more expensive than the 3870X2.

Well are you happy with your E6300? With a bit of overclock the E6300 is still a very capable little chip.

I kinda feel that the e6300 is getting long in the tooth, i have 4 gb of geil and i dont feel i can push anything with the current processor and its only 1.8 ghz per processer as the Q9450 and is 2.66 ghz per processor and has 4.
Its all going to be connect to a 24 inch monitor ( think i'll go with the samsung unless someone recommends anything better )

It maybe old but it's still very capable. And the DS3 is a great clocker so no reason why it won't clock. You should get 3-3.2Ghz easy with a good air cooler.

I think i'll go with the CPU upgrade as i think iam going to get a big boost in performance and it should work better with the bigger g card.

Infact ive been reading a few review and iam going to go with the core 2 duo E8400, i dont think i'll take advantage of 4 cores while just gaming and browsing so it would be a waste.
Seems like the E8400 is very good and is the better buy but i thought the GA-965p-DS3 only supported chips up to 1066mhz FSB or does the new Bios take advantage of the extra FSB of the new models?.

So do you think its worth getting a Q9450 or E8400 or just keeping what ive got? its just ive seen a few post that say the memory holds back the cpu if you have 4gb of geil.
Kind of really stuffed at the moment on what to do.

i'd keep the processor and go for the gfx card update.

if you're looking towards the wolfdales/new quads i'd get a new mobo as well.
