Problem is unit is brand new but within 3/4 minutes of connecting with Pc the screen goes black,
power light stays on and blue and I can still faintly see the Pc desktop behind the black which if I turn the power button off then on the screen flashes on, this allows approx 1 second on use before returning to a black screen.
If monitor is switched off for a hour or more when re powered unit stays on again for 3/4 minutes

Pc is a quad core Dell 720 running Vista home.

Also connected my PS3 using the Hdmi cable and monitor stays on for a brief time maybe 30 seconds then turns black ????

I have removed drivers and installed Vista drivers from Viewsonics site
2 disable sleep within windows
2 changed screen resolutions and Mhz

This unit is now on RMA . have i missed something I should have done

Many thanks

D

thats very similar to what my monitor does, except my monitor is out of warranty, so I cant get it repaired.

When i first switch mine on in the morning, i never comes on. The screen will stay black, but the light will turn blue to indcate that it has a signal. I have to leave the monitor alone for 5 mins, before turning it off then on, and THEN the image appears. Sometimes the image will appear for a few seconds and then the screen will turn black again, so I have to switch it off then on again.

The back light or more likely power inverter board is faulty so the back lighting turns off. Nothing to be done but RMA it while its still in warranty.

shame about that seems you may be needing a new monitor  I guess it happens :)

is this the 22" full HD one ?

If so what is it like ? i am thinking about buying it, and would love to here some opinions / reviews from it.

Also what does it mean by 2ms reponse time Grey to grey ?
Does this mean that i might not actually be getting 2ms response time all the time ? i know its something to do with how fast the pixel can go from grey, off and then back to grey or something like that ?

So yeah? Anyhelp ?

Also what is the 1900x1080 like on the desktop ? does all the fonts seem to small ect ?

would be great help if you could help me :]

thanks

My opinion based on max 3 hrs use before being returned is that i was more than happy with it upgrading from 3 year old 19" tft . never ran it at 1900 x 1080 so can not comment was planning to try out my new sli'd 8800gtx's on that setting before i had the problems , I can say one of the reasons i bought this was for the Hdmi allowing me to use my Ps3 which I was really pleased with in full HD . at mo unit has been sent back to OC on a RMA so will see

I have this monitor, using it right now, fantastic, gaming the detail is incredible, text is perfect and sharp, much much better than my old Samsung pebble 22"
