Help with Vista 64 Issue

I've bought and built a brand new gaming rig from oc today and cannot get vista 64 to install.

Xp installs with no problems at all. When I try and install vista it gets to the first light blue screen but then nothing. Cursor is on screen and moves so the pc hasn't hung but it doesn't go any further.

Any ideas?

Have you ensured there are no hardware problems (memtest for 6-12 hours, mersenne prime for the same amount of time). First thing you should do with a new build is stress test/burn in.

When it hangs, how long have you left it before shutting down?

at least 10 minutes and still nothing

It takes ages, seriously leave it for like 10-15mins.

I bow to your superior knowledge. 15 minute wait and hey presto - first install screen appears.

Now playing fallout 3 on my new machine at highest settings. Superb.
