Help with Voltage GTX 970

Hi all glad i found this forum i have a msi gtx 970 4g gaming i know how to overclock the card but just been watching a few vids the vids i seen all have the Voltage at 0mV before the overclock but my card in stock shows 987mV in afterburner before iv done anything to it have a look

but i have been using this skin what shows 0 Voltage for some time now

Even if i overclock that skin still only shows +50

whats going on with the 987mV on 1 skin & a different Voltage on a different skin
PLS can anyone give me a bit of light

987mv is how much voltage the card is using at that time.

0mv is how much voltage you are adding to the stock voltage.

If you look at your first screenshot where you can see the 987mv figure, there is also a core voltage slider which is showing +0mv.
 
yes new boy after running a load of tests in Heaven from no overclock to pushing it to it's limits all ultra settings & with a custom 4k res the voltage did nothing away
 
Thanks again new boy for info on the voltage after a few more tests today im getting (1531 core clock 4036 memory clock with a voltage of 1.218 & not even hitting 75c with a default fan curve). Here are the details if anyone needs them
+20 voltage
+165 on core clock
+525 on memory clock

+ the extra 15-20% on voltage helped was getting 1.218v on stock then down to 1.200 in Heaven after 20 mins. Now at 1.218v in that OC with much more C Clock + more Mem Clock with no crashing at all & still at 1.218v
