i kno im gonna be crucified for askin this... n ye slong as u help me u can slate me all u want!!
situation is, i been wanting to get into water cooling a few month now, so looked it all up on the net.. thinkin i had it sussd then settled on getting an armor LCS as reviewed as good starter kit...
i since installed and tested my set up - pump - cpu - rad. no leaks. but now i wanna add my 8800 and flow meter. thing is, i dont kno how to disconnecrt the pipes without causing serious ammounts of spillage!!!
seems there is ample ammounts of info available to aid in the installation of a water cooling system.. but absolutely none on how to uninstall / drain one - or a tip sayin maybe u should install a drainage valve on first installation!!!
i kno this maybe commen sense to u all, but it was not to me!!
i need your help!!
if anyone can give me some tips on how to drain my system, without major spillage.. it would be muchly muchly appreciated!!!

and yes im a bit nubish , but im tryin right!! :)

thanks in advance,

shy

How do you fill your system?

If you have a res thats how you empty it by opening it and tipping the case to drian it (please switch of the computer before doing this:eek: ).

If you have a fill port disconnect that and tip the pc again to drain.

Otherwise plenty of towels and a bucket around your lowest bit of pipe loosen the clamp and yank and quickly stick it in the bucket.

Im lucky i installed a valve between my pump and Radiator (which are at the bottom of my case) so i just yank that open, its sooo easy. Would be worth getting one for when you need to empty it again and put knew water in.

:D thankin u vr much afk matrix!!!!
thinks i gonna tip it over now - and before i connect it all up again, i will defas install a valve! ;)

thanks again - n have a nice day!! :p

No offence whatsoever intended here Shy but are you intending to watercool the 8800 with that thermaltake kit by just adding a GPU block?

If you are I would seriously consider uprating the kit you have(nigh on impossible tbh) or even better, throw it in the bin and start again. I say this because I started out with a cheap thermaltake kit and while at the time I thought it was the bee's knee's I soon found out how seriously underpowered it was after switching to a decent kit.

The 8800's are toasty at the best of times so adding that amount of heat to what is in effect a lowend water setup in every aspect will destroy what cooling properties it has and you will no doubt see a rise in CPU temps negating what effect watercooling had on it in the first place.

Harsh I know but tis the truth :(

Yeah sorry didn't read your first post correctly. If in deed you are thinking of adding a 8800 block to a thermaltake watercooling setup think again. From what I have read there watercooling stuff is a joke. Get a swiftech kit if your new to the watercooling scene and then as a 8800 block to that. Otherwise go the whole hog and get sepearte components (thus getting the best kit available).
