Howdi,

Basic story:

I have setup a website, webserver and a small office environment for a friends start-up company. All is working spiffingly.

However, as of yesterday if you search with any search engine for their company name (ie Saviola) the correct items appear in the search results but when you click a link it goes to saviola.com and not www.saviola.com, for example. The former does not work.

Going to www.saviola.com and any page therein works fine.

I have entries in DNS for *.saviola.com, www.saviola.com and @(saviola.com) through LCN. I have no web forwarding enabled.

Any thoughts on what I have missed? I have done this so many times before and not had this issue.

Cheers
Saviola

ps Saviola is not the company name :)

I get " Internet Epxlorer/Chrome cannot dsiplay the page error" no IIS specific error.

It does seem a DNS issue but can't see it.

But the @ record shouldn't make any difference, unless it's incorrect and stopping the other records from working.

I would get rid of all but the saviola.com and www.saviola.com records and force an update. Are you using two A records for these, or is one a CNAME pointing at the other?

Think I will do that over the weekend, its working from home for me, but not a customer in the US.

Using multiple A records at the mo.

Would be easier if you just said the domain so it can be checked.

The OP said that saviola.com wasn't his domain - just that he was using it as an example.

Yeah felt it was unfair on my mate, he did the web design :)

I don't really see how that is unfair, it's a website, not a secret club but nevermind :D

More its not well designed unfair :) Anyway think I am getting to the issue, added a free DNS nameserver service and its working ok now.

Cheers all
