So I have a few bits sitting around and I'd like to get a very small build for the living room, so basic requirement is that its inconspicuous and quiet,
Will be mostly used for browsing, music and films but just to use up the parts kicking around - advice on what needs replaced, what's not suitable etc and a recommend for a small case would be great ta

AMD Phenom II X6 Six Core 1055T 2.80GHz
Palit GeForce GTX 460 768MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
G.Skill RipJaw 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H AMD 880G (Socket AM3) microATX DDR3 Motherboard
OCZ ModXStream Pro 500w Silent SLI Certified Modular Power Supply
Akasa AK-CCX-4002HP Venom CPU Cooler
Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache

OK, well that is mini ITX so no good for your current motherboard.

It's like you'll have to scrap your cooler and go with a low-profile one, since these short cases don't have much room!

Any of these cases will accommodate your existing components (bar CPU cooler) but it's worth measuring your PSU length if you decide to go with the GD06.

cheers

I kinda thought the cooler/motherboard might have to get chucked anyway - I used to have a shuttle system which had it's own heat sink was wondering if that's a way to go again...
Also thought it might be a bit noisy with the fans I currently have, are there any decent motherboards which would take the processor and maybe have on board graphics with hdmi or something, or would it be better to get a different gpu without the two fans?

Up to you, new motherboard will be more costly but means you can upgrade to 8320 for example in future.

I've just had a look at your motherboard and it has onboard graphics anyway with a hdmi port?

There are no AM3+ m-ITX motherboards.

The only ones ever made were AM3 and they are no longer in production.

If you want to use what you have the m-ATX Silverstone Grandia GD04 / 05 cases will accept all your hardware other than the cooler.

If you want smaller, you'll have to sell the Phenom and board and buy m-itx kit.
