So i have my HTPC and a small server so that i can access my films in the livin room and i got my little girls pc attached so she can view her tv programs (grrr peppa pig is the bain of my life)

Anyway i have set her XMBC so that her films are on a smaller hdd, so that when she goes on her media centre it doesnt show the films me and the misses have access to (not porn :) thats elsewhere ;) )but anything from PG up to 18 cert films

However when i go to my computer it still shows the hdd that our media is stored on.

how can i get it so that if i log on to my account it shows all the hard drives but if i log on a guest/daughters account it only shows the appropriate (sp?) hdd ?

Many thanks

Could you not just set sharing/user access restrictions for the drives? For example you have drives C: and D:

C: is your stuff
D: is your daughters

Your the admin login so you have access to everything, your daughters account is not, you should be able to restrict her to only access D:. Look in windows access and permissions in the control pannel.

Alternatively you could just do some folder admin work, like password protecting the folder with your movies in, setting your movies folder as 'hidden' and setting the other account to not show hidden files/folders.

after a lot of searching i decided the best thing to do is use true crypt to encrypt the drive so that the daughters HDD shows constantly but me or the OH wants to watch a film we enter our password and the whole drive becomes available. only down side is that if we watching a film then she be able to see the films but this solution was only meant for when the little one was being babysat so should meet my needs :)
