Help with windows that slam in the wind

Can anyone advise me on what to do about my windows? They slam hard in the breeze. I currently put a tea-towel to dampen the noise and hopefully stop them getting damaged.

Long term what are my options?

Sounds daft, but I think you can get child proof mechanisms that you can bolt to the window to stop them opening very far. Probably worth a look.

Thanks!

Both those options restrict how open the window can be and the thing I rather like about these windows is I can have them wide open.

One solution might be to fix something (a coil or spring?) between the two parts of the hinge meaning it requires more force to close them but when they're open they don't slam shut in the wind.
Either that or having less loose hinges?
