Help with windows update - updates failing

I have a brand new lenevo laptop which has been gathering dust for 5 month. It has win 7 pro 32bit, I have tried to update windows and each time I try, it has failed. I have tried to update all of the recommended updates in one go and I have tried them individually and they still fail.

I have also tried the update troubleshooter and it reports it has found and fixed problems but I am still not managing to install any updates.

Some update have worked but looking back at the update history these are updates for ms office, outlook and publisher, printer and lenevo think pad. None of the updates for win7 have worked at all.

It has me stumped.

It sounds like the synch between what is installed on your computer and what windows updates thinks is installed on your computer is out of synch.

Basically what you need to do is delete the local cache of windows update and it should work.

This might work, I have done this before.

Have you tried downloading SP1? Should perform all of the updates and more in one go.

Tried it, failed again. Also sp1 is already installed

Check for hard drive errors
Check for ram errors
