* To switch the wireless on/off use the button to the right of the power button.

So i hit the button mentioned and nothing happens, i check the device manager and there is not a wireless card under network adaptors so am i right in thinking there isnt one fitted ?

Am i missing something or is there just simply not a card fitted regardless of the specs above.

Did any of the empty expansion bays have what looked like two ends of an antenna wire inside a plastic sleeve?

Hmmm... If nothing is showing in device manager and nowt happens when you use the Wireless on/off switch I'd be tempted to say it doesn't have one or it's broken.

Is it still under warranty?

I will check the expansion bays out on the bottom of the laptop. The laptop i think is about 4-5years old. This is the first time that the wireless facility has been tried. The problem is that the original packaging and instructions are no longer available so the the specs for the laptop are what i pulled from the net so thy could be refering to an updated version.

The wifi slot is under the keyboard, press the little tabs at the edge of the keyboard bottom edge one by one and the keyboard will pop out, then there is a silver panel 4 screws it should be under there.
