I have just up the XBOX 360 through my OcUK 24" monitor via the official VGA HD Cable. I just dont have anywhere to put the white and red audio cables!!!!

Any suggestions because the speaker system i am using has a sub which is too far away from the setup!

Cheers :)

Well the two rather obvious solutions are

a) buy another set of speakers
b) buy cable extension leads and connect to your existing speaker system

:)

:p I know

I just wanted an "easy/lazy" way of doing it tonight!

If i use the headphones will this give me sound on the games, even though its only one earpiece?

Cheers :)

I'm asuming your PC is also near the monitor?
If so just plug the audio cable via the Y connector from the VGA cable into the 'audio in' on your PC.
That of course is also asuming you have speakers plugged into your PC?

My speakers are connected to the audio connectors for the PC, or am i missing something?

Cheers:)

I have no line in as i am using audio via my motherboard, or should'nt that matter?

My speakers are 2.1 and are a bit ****. They have no input anywhere!!!!

Any suggestions?

[EDIT] What speakers sub £20 can i get for both the PC and XBOX360, or do i just get a soundcard?

Cheers :)

Thanks guys.

I have used that 2 into 1 connector and i placed it into the blue slot but still no sound.

I have an MSI motherboard, how do i get it to work now?

Cheers :)

Still having trouble all.

Ok,

The speakers are connected to PC via one GREEN connector into the GREEN hole on the motherboard.

I have connected the VGA cable to the XBOX360 and the "2 into 1" red and white connectors into the BLUE hole in the motherboard.

I have "un muted" everything as you can see.

Is there something i am missing?

Is it something to do with Realtek?

Cheers :)

Anyone please tell me what i could be doing wrong?

My 360 is sitting here begging me to play it ;)

Cheers :)

Thanks for the help guys.

I have "Line In" ticked on the recording control.

On the Master Volume for output control, nothing is muted and everything is up high.

The Red and White connectors from the XBOX HD VGA cable is in the "Y" connector and into the BLUE slot on my PC. My speakers are connected GREEN TO GREEN!

Also, on that MSI config window - can't really read it - but is the blue socket set for line in?

Yes it is Line and the green socket is Line Out, is this correct?

Does this sound right?

This is what i am seeing when i click on the icon next to the BLUE circle, in Realtek:

I have just got hold of another set of speakers.

They have 4 slots in the back of the subwoofer.

2 x Audio In
2 x Speaker Out

Can anyone tell me how this should set up?

If that does'nt work it is definatly the Realtek, as i have connected DIRECT from 360 to speakers and....SOUND:)

BUT... I want ONE set of speakers NOT two.

Please HelP!!!!

Cheers :)

I imagine you put the red and white from the VGA cable into the 2x audio in, then the 2 speakers to the out and should work

This does but i want it setup so i can use the speakers for both PC and 360 without switching.

For this i believe you use the "Y" connector and but that in audio in and the speakers are in audio out.

This though doesnt seem to work....either the settings in the PC arent right (Realtek/MSI Mobo) or the blue connector on my Mobo is faulty????

Cheers :)

It has built in speakers mate but i really wanted surround sound....XBOX 360 and all!

Will have a look to see what that would sound like!

Cheers :)
