Right, little problem here.
I just bought a thermalright IFX14 after checking the measurements and seeing that yes, it will fit my case (Antec 900). However, I didn't check the extra passive heatsink doohicky, and annoyingly its not going to fit into the case, due to a combo of the case, and possible bad CPU placement on my mobo (Asus P5B).
Anyway, is it possible to install it without the passive cooler? I don't see why not, but thought I should check just in case.
Edit: There also appears to be a line of capacitor legs which are getting in the way of mounting the backplate. Or at least it looks like theye are getting in the way, it may be possible to leave a gap between the backplate and the mobo, as its only the front that does the cooling.
I do have a pair of plyers to snip them off, but I would rather wait for confirmation.
