Hi, at the moment I have a water cooled Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego on a DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra-D motherboard, and am using an X850XT graphics card.

Is it worth changing the whole setup for an Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 system and new graphics card? If so what would be your reccomendations?

Its been a while since I have looked at upgrading and dont know a lot about the new range of kit available especially graphics cards, so any help would be apprecciated. I havent really decided on a budget yet, but am looking at selling my existing kit to offset the cost, so the cheaper the better. Thanks for any help given. :)

Is it worth it really comes down to what you want out of it, is your PC struggling at the moment? If so in what? Which games, what settings? What games and settings would you like to be able to play/play at?

My system does not seem to be struggling at the moment. I normally play at 1152x864 on my 19" viewsonic, but with newer games coming out with better special effects and me wanting to change my case over for somthing larger, I thought I would take a look at whats out there.

Nah, wait for DX10 to come out. What you have there is powerful enough until the time comes where DX10 and Vista are standard.

Your card is around the level of a 7600 GT so something like an X1900 XT would be a large upgrade sure but if your happy at the mo then not much point, at that resolution your prolly near the optimum for your card too.

Longer you leave it the bigger jump it'll be when you do upgrade ;)

Thanks for the replies. :) So if I were to keep my chip and board, would I see any improvement going over to a X1950 graphics card?
