Hi,

My CPU is broken and out of warrantee, so I need a new one. However I only have £275. I want to upgrade to a LGA775 system but keep my (relatively) new graphics card, however it is AGP and I can't find any AGP LGA775 motherboards.

Please help.

There aren't many LGA775 AGP boards - in fact I only found one and it's based on a Via chipset

I'd therefore look at:

MB-065-MS MSI PM8M3-V VIA P4M800 (Socket LGA775) Motherboard (MB-065-MS)
£34.95 £34.95
CP-091-IN Intel Pentium 4 650 "LGA775 Prescott" 3.4GHz (800FSB) with HT Technology - Retail (CP-091-IN)
£174.95 £174.95
Subtotal £209.90
VAT £36.74
Total £246.64

Is there any particular reason why you want to stay with Intel?

I'd get the ASROCK Dual motherboard which has native PCI-E and AGP (easy upgrade path for the future) and a dual core Athlon X2.

CP-134-AM AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ (Socket 939) - Retail (ADA3800BVBOX) (CP-134-AM)
£182.95 £182.95
Subtotal £182.95
VAT £32.02
Total £214.97

+ £50 for the ASRock motherboard (not sold at OCUK)
