I've been scratching my head a little as to why my daily points average has dropped from the 1,200s to the 800's.

It seems that most of my machines aren't passing back the completed WUs :( and are constantly trying to sent them.. I have one dated 15th November!!!

Here is the log:

Umm, nothing?
The option is whether or not to use the settings found with IE. If you don't use them it'll use its own local configuration that you enter in config mode.

I guess if you had to tell it to use IE settings in the first place it'd probably be for some sort of proxy. I suppose you'll have to set the proxy yorself in the proxy settings.

Ok I specifed No IE seetings and No Proxy.. Bit confussed as to how the client would get it's settings.

However, it seems to be sending results back.

One of the WU has had 63 attempts at server 171.65.103.158???

Still getting failed attempts at 171.65.103.100??

On your systems what sort of settings would it need to pick up from IE? Do you have some special configuration?

Hmm I guess so..

We'll it's uploaded 17 wus already from one core  - i'll keep an eye on things for a bit.

Thank Mate :)

The IE settings option made its way into the client as an easy way to setup the client to use a proxy without having to manually set it up. They thought that the user would already have the necessary settings in IE's configuration so it just snoops on them and uses them for its own connections. IE7 changed the way the configuration is stored and as such it confuses FAH. Expect a fix for this when the next version of the console comes out.

You'll probably find that some of the servers which were used a couple of months ago may have been taken offline if they've finished the run of projects they were hosting at the time.

Server 100 is the collection server which helps out when the work servers are busy - unfortunately if the particular work server is actually down for some reason then the collection server won't be able to accept the WU :(
It will however let you upload the entire WU before telling you this so if it's a large file you may want to find out about deleting that particular result - I would leave it for now incase the server is just tempoarily down but if it becomes a problem give us a shout :)

I have 6 files on one machine that have over 80 attempts to upload.. most of them are the 158 server which is down :(

I'm still confusssed as the logs said yesterday that at least 12 WU had been uploaded but the completed WUs only show 4 or 5 since.

If they've been sitting around for a while, they may have expired already due to passing their deadlines. In BOINC's case, you get nil points for those usually, and I expect F@h as the same as the results would be useless.

As for deleting WUs, if you just delete the result file the client will clean up after itself (or at least it did when I had to delete one due to it being 256MB and refusing to upload).

I want to see those uploaded for an absolutely epic dump. The 24 hour average would be ridiculous for about 3 weeks until things calmed down again :D

Could get a stomp or two in all of a sudden.

still no joy.. Average is dropiing all the time.. 12 processors dumping less than 800 between them a day. What is going on???

I'm thinking of clearing my main machine and starting from fresh..

:(

I get the occasional borg seeming to hang on the send/ get new work bit. Only way I've found to get over that, is to stop the service, then start the f@h client manually. Once I can see it's done it's upload / download thing and the new WU is crunching properly, I reboot the PC so it's running properly again as service (yep I could just close the client console and restart the service, but this also gets rid of me having logged in and stuff). Usually the f@h then runs normally for a while, but periodically they all fall over, which is where f@hmon comes in to tell me what is what.

But my output at the moment sucks too, not as badly as some, but the WU's I'm getting aren't worth much for the time the borg spends on it.
