HELP!

I just download core temp and as soon as i opened it it said "Your cpu is overheating" immediate shut down! Says its running at 85c !!!

is this normal guys? first time ive been with intel? jus checked the fan, its running fine..

im running it on a Asus P5N-E mobo with 2gb of ram. Checked temps in bios is says 51c and 60 ish on this other program that i cant remember the name of at this moment lol.

SpeedFan now saying its 50c is this normal?

Ive reseated HFS and now speedFan shows temps of 50 still although on Core Temp is says Core 1 is @ 59c Core 2 is at 63c is this ok?

What exact CPU are you running mate?

Also, using a program like CPU-Z or similar what is the vCore?

Have you used thermal paste between the heatsink and the CPU?

Im using the E6600, ive not applied any thermal paste jus the standard stuff that came with the HSF, if you mean the voltage its showing up as 1.312v

I meant to list your specifications:
CPU, mobo, memory, GPU, case (how many fans it has), etc.

Whether the temps you observe are idle or under load. This will give some indications for the culprit. If you give just fragmented information, it is difficult to work out what and why.

The program you mention should be TAT. What is the ASUS probe giving you (in case you have it installed from the utility CD that came with the mobo).

Core Temp is considered the most precise tool but I am using ASUS probe, Everest Ultimate Edititon and Coretemp and the difference is a couple of degrees between them.

It would help if you find some AS5 (thermal paste) clean carefuly the current thermal paste (some isopropanol or nail varnish cleaner will be helpful), apply AS5 (the size of a rice grain will be sufficient) and re-set the HSF.

Check also the cables in your case, whether they prevent the air circulation, etc.

All this together should change the temp readings. Of course you could always buy a new better CPU cooler (Tuniq Tower, ninja, artcic freezer pro 7, etc spring to mind).

Ive got a Lian Li case cant remember the model. Got loads of fans running, all other temps are pretty good except the CPU itself currently idle is 45c. Ive orderd a Artic cooler 7 Pro hope that helps.

When i try and use TAT it gives me the following error message "Error enumerating On Demand Clock Modulation support. Terminating Tool."
