Far Cry, no contest. It's so much better than FEAR, gameplay wise. Also, when you play it in Paradise Mode, it looks better then FEAR. The Game Engine might struggle a bit, though. Make sure you have a good rig! But Far Cry is so much better than FEAR. FEAR's still a good game, though. Also - Far Cry's only 10 quid now - cheap at half the price of FEAR.

splash out and buy both. surely you can get far cry for under a tenner now? even fear cant be that much. they are well worth the buy.

fear has better gfx but i prefered the game play in far cry. can pick up far ry quite cheap these days, fear however is still slightly more.

NB: Don't have a killer GFX

Just want something (entertaining/long/etc) that will run decently on a X700 @ 1024 by 768. Last game I played & really enjoyed many moons ago was HL-2 & that ran fine.

Play one game at a time & don't really want to buy both right-now
