help harddrive hell?
at the moment i have 3 harddrives
13 gig ibm from 1999 got xp pro on this
40 gig ibm from 2001/2 got vista ultimate on this
250 gig wd from end of 2006 got large programs and games on this
been noticing problems creeping in to my xp drive eg some games refuse to boot from xp install and it takes literally 5 minutes to boot up now theres even a delay starting fire fox on it...
i beleive that very noisy little hd is on its way out and im wondering what to do about it.
i could try an reinstall windows xp on it again or i could wipe my vista install an use the 40 gig for xp since vista boots up rapid on that and its a lot quieter.
if i did wipe the vista drive how would i go about getting my current xp install onto that other drive i cba doing a fresh install again if it can be avoided
any tips or opinions are greatly appreciated
edit : i do have one spare drive but its a samsung 160 gig that went faulty was running in pio mode..... and caused my comp to be highly unstable so replaced with the wd 250 gig.
