My computer seems to have died. First indication was a sudden and complete shutdown this afternoon. It wouldn't restart so I switched it off completely and left it a while. It powered up again no problem later on. Then tonight just after I loaded up WOW the system crashed, the screen went blank as in NO SIGNAL, blank. The sound stuck but the fans still span and the keyboard stayed lit.
It wouldn't reset so I unplugged as before but now, when I turn it on, the fans run, the HDD light comes on for several seconds and thats it. There is no post, no beep and definately no output to bring the monitor to life. Because of the cut out earlier today, I suspect the power supply but it is pretty new as I replaced a dead Hyper recently. I dont understand how if there is power I can't even get to the BIOS. Any suggestions?

What PSU is it? And what setup.. Your new PSU might be playing up, ANY PSU can fail/suddenly decide to not work regardless of age.

Only other thing I can think of is when your old Hiper went boom it may have done some damage to the RAM or something is shorting it so it can't start.

Trial and remove the hardware.

I loaded up WOW the system crashed

That made me smile though :p

could even be a borked GPU - if the fans are spinning but every time you run a game it stos - and you get 'no signal' on the screen - it could be overheating - reseating the Heat sink could be a good idea on the GPU.

well I think I've ruled out the Graphics card. Had an old one I stuck in, no change. Going to try the power supply next.
Watch this space...
