Help!!!

How the hell are you suppose to remove a heatsink from a CPU that is stuck down with foooking thermal adhesive tape. Its like its cemented down!!!!!

If the processor is still in the motherboard try turning on your pc and running it for a few minutes in prime or orthos so it heats up then turn off your pc and try removing it then should be easier..

Unfortunately its isnt so can I heat it up anyway... say with a hairdryer or sommet

Hairdryer should work nicely, have had to use that method before.

Right I will be re applying the heatsink with some artic silver 5, is there any house hold stuff i can wipe the heatspreader and the bottom of the heatsink with before i re attach

Nail polish remover if you have any..
