I really need your help with this one ive been pulling all nighters running prime 95 (blend) and doing different configurations im losing the will to live.
I purchased 2 new ati 4850 graphics cards on wednesday from overclockers to replace my 8800 gtx. Fitted it, formated my computer and installed everything on it, ran 3dmark 06 everything passed, later that day i ran a game and it crashed 5 min into the game, rebooted about 5 times also crashed 5 min into the game.
Ran prime 95 blend test everytime it crashes 5 min into the test. So i went through a process of swapping drivers uninstalling this that the other, reinsalled xp twice, then tried vista same problem (lockup).
Tried running everything on stock, same problem, tried under clocking, no joy. Tried every possible bios configuration for voltages i can think of, still nothing. Disabled crossfire nothing.
Finally i took out one of the graphics cards and prime ran for 20+ min, so I took that as working ok (never gets that far), so I put the 2nd 4850 back in and took out 2 sticks of memory. Prime ran for 1hr+ great! I then put the ram in dual channel slots 1 and 3 and ran prime and it locked up. So where do I go from here ? I have run mem test and the memory passed without any errors.

Problem:
If i run x2 4850(crossfire) and 4 sticks of memory, my system locks up. (configuration i want)
If i run x2 4850 and 2 sticks of memory in slots 1 and 3 (dual channel) my system locks up.
If i run x2 4850 and 2 sticks of memory in slots 1 and 2 , my system works fine.
If I run x1 4850 and 4 sticks of memory, my system works fine.
Only thing I can think of is a compatibility issue with cross fire and 4 sticks of ram on the motherboard.
All help / ideas greatly appreciated.
