Hey, someone I know has a PC and they want to upgrade their graphics card as it doesn't have a DVI port on the back. As far as I can gather it currently has onboard graphics, and tells me the model number is an Acer Aspire M1640, now he has bought a GeForce 8400GS, and has said he has encountered problems in installing it.
I can't find any source on the internet telling me what model of motherboard is in this computer, so would anyone know, and if so how to fix it.
He's saying with the card in, he's getting no output to the monitor, and now with the card out a host of other problems have come up, missing drive, internet not working, etc.
Just wondering if the card is not compatable, or something.
