Office uninstall probelm please help!!!!

Dad purchased pc with office 2007 installed on a trial basis. he then let the trial expire and later brought office 2007 retail. removed office trial via windows add/remove program and tried installing did not work! it says the setup file is corrupt however this is not the case because it installs fine on other machines. googled around a bit and found a lot of people solved the problem by removing the file "opa12.dat" so i tried it and it failed. has anyone got any other ideas on how to fix the problem. its also not a hardware problem as i tested that by installing photoshop on the system and that went fine.

Have you got the exact error message? I have post something in the past about this but cant remember which thread it was in.

the error is get is after i customise the installtion and click install it says setup has stopped working and needs to close.

have tried downloading a trial version and get the same results as well so i dont think i have a dodgy disc.

Its always good to let others know how you fixed a problem just in case someone else has the same problem one day.
