Help!?

Hello,

I have a few problems! They are all on my dell [Sig below].

Firsty, I tried to install Antivir anti virus and it kept on saying i have no internet connection but i have, ive tried wireless and wired. - This also happened when i tried to install spybot. - It is showing as connected on the tray and in network connections but i also get this problem when i try to go on IE.
But im fine on firefox..
Secondly on Firefox pages load very slowing and mostly hang for 20secs then will freeze if i click anything.

I was running on an acer travelmate, 256mb ram and a 1.13 cpu and it wasnt a problem.

Just dont know what to do.

Get the system checked over with some decent anti spyware tools.
Search the forums for suggestions

what the guy above says.

just out of interest do you have a firewall that could be stopping antivir connecting? silly thing is though surely antivir doesn't need an internet connection to run?

Nope no firewall - i disabled the windows one - now running AVG free ad aware Anv add and spybot all clean - ive just built this pc and had windows on it a week maybe?

No firewall isn't neccessarily a good thing, and could be the root of your woes.

Try Avast! Home Edition. It's free. Never had any problems with it, and is much better than AVG and I prefer it over Avira.

i dont like avast comes as a silly layout why dont they just have a proper thing.

avira is my favourite. avg is just a back up.
