Whenever i open a program any program. Windows 7 64 Bit is sayin it cannot find find for example firefox.exe all programs have suddenly gone like this.
 
all programs cant find firefox.exe?

or all programs cant find there own .exe?

i had a problem where every shortcut tried to install ms office , everytime i hit cancel it would pop back up until about the 10th time when the program would launch.

i just opened reg edit and searched for the file name and deleted all reference to it.

so if its only firfox.exe it cant find just open the registry and nuke all entries with firefox.exe in them
 
Every program (including windows stuff) can't find it's exe. 1 or 2 programs ie firefox i could fix by manually pointing them to ther exe

Okay now that is wierd =/

Only thing I could think of is to go to Task Manager, end explorer then while in Task Manager go to File > New Task and type in "Explorer"

Which normally fixes little niggles sometimes, although I figure that wouldn't be any different to a restart so I'm stumped.

Have you scanned pc for viruses too via manually opening the .exe file of the programme? if it picks one up then restart in safemode and delete the file.(write down location on paper)

Otherwise try rebooting in safemode then use "last known configured settings that worked" or whatever it's called.

Though i've never seen a problem like yours ever it's very strange.Oo
 
Fixed the icons are still buggered but the applications can find the exe's and function again now.
How i fixed it: went in safe mode menu and it let me use system restore from there.
Thank's a lot saved me a lot of stress :)
