help!

my mate was getting poor preformance in games , I told him to update his ATI drivers , now his mouse won't work... any ideas?
edit: it gets on to the desktop , the mouse works for a few seconds and then the computer completly freezes..

spec: Pentium 4
1GB RAM
ATI Raedeon xpress 200

boot into safe mode and uninstall the ati drivers...then boot up normally,and download a different revision of the drivers

He has uninstalled the ATI drivers and has tried to reinstall new ones (In safe mode , he managed to get on to task manager and said there was a warning sign next to "video controller" , now when he boots the problem persists..

can you try a different mouse and uninstall the drivers in regular windows?

no , the problem in my op happens.

what about booting with no mouse? It might not be an issue with the mouse per se, but just a general crash?
