Hi Guys I need help on the following issues.

I have Gigabyte GA EP45-UD3LR mobo. I just installed Windows 7 64Bit. I was using Netgear RangeMax Wireless-N USB 2.0 WN111 adapter previously on Windows 7 32Bit for internet connection. I tried it again on the 64bit with latest update driver which gets installed in X86 folder. But somehow system doesn't recognise those drivers. I suspect the adapter is not compatible with 64bit version.

I am now trying to use onboard lan but i have no experience with it. How do I connect to internet with onboard LAN. I have also installed latest driver. I would really appreciate help on both issues.

Many thanks.:(

The WN111 is 64 bit compatable but not sure if it is with Windows 7. I know there are drivers for it on the netgear site.

Anyway as said, you just need to connect your PC to your router via an ethernet cable and the rest should take care of itself.

Thanks guys . Apparently when I downloaded latest driver it was WPN111 which I read wrongly. I then downloaded WN111 latest driver which is compatible with 64bit windows 7 and it works perfectly. :D

As for the onboard LAN I was under the impression that it works like a wireless laptop in that you didn't need to plug your case to any ethernet cable and you could receive internet connection signal wirelessly by having the chipset recognise your ISP through a software program.

Normally when someone says onboard LAN they are refering to the wired ethernet port on there motherboard.

This connects to other network hardware using a wired. Some motherboards have a wireless adaptor built in but its not a very common feature.
