I bought an Acer 6930 from argos september 2009 and decided not to get the extended warranty, (£179 extra) and now, a month after my warranty expires the graphics card fails , and i'm kinda stumped for decisions, do i either go to argos and say that the product has failed after a year (which is pretty poor) or do i contact Acer who apparantly after reading other forums has very bad customer service and demand a repair. The graphics card is a nvida GS 9500 so im not sure if that comes with a separate warranty to the complete product.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks for reading :)

your actually covered for 2yrs now under EU law but after 12 months they dont have to give you the full amount back, phone argos customer services which i would imagine should actually be helpful, explain to them that under EU law there is a minumum 2 year warrenty now and see what they say, dont let them fob you off to acer as the contract is with them not with acer.

Be poilite but firm and if you get no joy take it to trading standards,

ps - google " 2 yr EU warrenty" and quote argos c service the correct legislation.
