Hey

Im moveing my washing machine to under the stairs as i have a new dishwasher for the kictchen (gift from family as they wanted an inbuilt one so gave me new free standing)

So i plumbed in waste and cold water into the space under the stairs.

I went to transfer washing thingy but found it has a Cold and Hot water feed!!!!

The manual says if no hot water avaliable then use a Y connection so both get cold.

Am i correct in thinking it creats its own hot water? but if so then why have a hot water feed? is it incase it cant produce hot water anymore??

I would add a hot water feed but i would require 9M plastic 15mm tube (£30) some bends at £4 a pop and a tap and more.... So its not cheap to do.

Will i be ok with just cold water entering it?

its a TriCity AW1053W

Thanks people!!!

(Any spelling mistakes are caused by me typeing very fast with dirty fingers and not wanting my keyboard dirtyied up)

It'll have an element in it to heat the water up to the temp it needs. If you have a hot water feed it saves it some energy and time as they water is already part way there but its not needed so don't fret :)

Even if you feed it hot water it would still need to heat it to get to the required temp, however as your boiler will be more efficient than the dishwasher it makes sence to use any available hot water.

My hot water is from the tank heater, It takes a good 19-25 secs for hot water to actually come out downstairs.

So will plumb it to cold :D
