Hi folks, can you guys recommend a good solid clockable motherboard, i7 processor and ram please.

1) I want a i7 processor 3.4 or 3.5
2) I need recommendations for Motherboard
3) Recommendations for RAM please. 8GB

I'm looking for a decent bundle. :D

Hi :)

With SLI/crossfire support:

Without SLI/crossfire support:

If you get the cooler, just check it'll fit in the case :)
Will only be sticking one card in (ATI); I've just got a 600Watt Bronze coolmaster modular power supply.

I've got a White NZXT Phantom 410 case DIMENSIONS (W x H x D) 215 x 516 X 532 mm

And a new DVDRW at the moment.

Still undecided on the graphics card, got any ideas for a decent'ish card £100-£150? (ATI)

I was thinking about getting one of them H70 coolers, instead of the 1 x Gelid Tranquillo CPU Cooler, what do you think about that? right move, wrong move, pointless?

* Also would those packages you suggested be clockable, without putting to much strain on them?

What will be the main purpose of this upgrade?

Mostly music, gaming.

Thanks for your responses by the way ;)

Well, if you're gaming I'd consider dropping to an i5 2500K instead - they clock very well and with the money saved you can get a better graphics card :)

1 x intel core i5-2500k 3.30ghz (sandybridge) socket lga1155 processor - retail £173.99

1 x alpenföhn k2 mount doom cpu cooler (socket lga1156/1155/1366/am2/am2+/am3/am3+/fm1) £64.99
1 x corsair vengeance low profile 8gb (2x4gb) ddr3 pc3-12800c9 1600mhz dual channel kit (cml8gx3m2a1600c9) £39.95

this is a great high end air cooler, there's a review here:

I'd go for it over the H70.

The 7850 is a great graphics card, and with the savings going for an i5 you should be able to afford it :)
See this thread about how well they overclock!

Man you have given me allot of options to go through in the morning. I appreciate that, you're great help.

Are you definitely sure the i5 is the way to go over the i7?

That cooler is maaaaaaahooooooooosive LOL, the main reason I was thinking about getting the h70 was because it looked tidy. The Alpenföhn K2 CPU Cooler is a beast and a half; not ruling it out though. I'm not even sure if it will fit my case though.

For gaming the i5 is where it's at! :)
[Most games can't make use of four cores yet fully, so having hyperthreading isn't much help]

Is it big, advantage of big cooler is nicer overclocks and/or quietness. I've got a similar large cooler, and can be overclocked to 4.5Ghz and my system still be so very nice and quiet :)
I did check, plenty of room for that cooler:
170mm (CPU HSF), 200mm (PSU)

Heatsink size:
146x154x160mm

Something to consider anyway :)

The i5 2500K is a beast for gaming, its your best option at the moment.

Also the graphics card recommend by beejjacobs (7850) is a great one. I just bought the sapphire version and it runs skyrim on ultra at about 45-60 fps average with a HD texture pack added. So really it should handle almost any game on the highest settings :)
