Help!

Hello,

Today I received my new PC but when I installed the ATI drivers for my 7870 and reboot the computer, Windows will load but the moment when the Desktop should appear, there is nothing, just a black screen. There is still signals going to the monitor.

If I reboot the machine and UN-intstall the drivers / device and then reboot again Windows will installed the basic VGA adapter and everything works fine however, there do appear to red 'artifacts' going down the screen though I can only see them on certain Windows which is rather strange.

Is the GFX card faulty or is it bad drivers?

try an older version of the drivers

I'd reseat gfx card and your memory may of worked a little loose in transit.

I believe it may be Video RAM.

If you check the Half Life 2: Lost Coast screenshot I have the issue, but instead of blue lines, they are red lines.

So I contact the supplier and they've RMA'd the Graphics Card and are sending me out a new one!

Looks like I'm stuck on Intel HD 4000 graphics for a while!
