Help !

My Acer laptop running win7 HP 64bit has been plagued lately with apps freezing and unresponsive, Hard Drive has loads of free space, 8GB RAM only around 30% used and cpu usage low yet still problems.

Unable to run malwarebytes and/or anti-virus scans as they keep freezing so I used the Acer Recovery to restore the laptop to original condition but after it ran the restore process and began to load win7 for first time I got and keep getting an error saying "windows could not complete the installation. To install windows on this computer, restart the installation"

I switch the computer off and back on but keep getting the same message.

Any ideas / advice would be greatly appreciated

Check the RAM with memtest.

yes I would also look at memory.

HDD could be on its way out.

Try a fresh install - not with the restore partition with the boot disc itself.

Will make a bootable disc for memtest and run it later, thanks

Problem is I don't have a disc, just the backup and restore feature that didn't work
