Hi guys,

My Mrs has got a laptop that had windows 8 on, she couldn't get on with it so I said I'd install windows 7 for her.

Fast forward, I booted from CD and got to the partion screen, I formatted the drive but it says it can't install on a GPT partion.

How do I get around this, if I select repair it still wont have it.

Now I'm left with no operating system and no way of getting windows onto it.

:(

Why don't you just install a program like classic shell? With classic shell you can make windows 8 look like windows 7. That way you still have all the benefits of windows 8.

Edit sorry did not see you now have no OS. Maybe look for a manufacturers format disk for your hard drive?

Hi,

Ive managed to do it now via command prompts.

Ill look into classic shell though.

What actual benefits does win8 have over windows 7?
