Just got my partner a used GTX480..

But the water cooling block/ heatsink is stuck to the PCB with thermal pads and cannot remove it without bending the PCB of the card...

any advise?

lmfao... i dont have a water cooling unit in either of mine or the misses system... i got it from that massive auction site!

so hairdryer it is lol

You can see a 480 running without a cooler on YT (totally naked PCB), the guy did the oven trick to fix the solder on the VRam and as his GPU was WC he stuck it in without blocks and it booted to Windows, Core will be really low and if it did get too hot it would throttle and turn off.

Now you have a big block of copper on it acting as a AC.
