Hi all I have:

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor
Gigabyte Z68MA-D2H Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
Asus gtx 470
W7 x64

For a while now I have had random BSOD
Today it would not start at all but would in safe mode.
The crash dump files state the display adaptor?

I moved the gfx to onboard and it boots.
Back in the geforce 470 and it fails.
Downloaded old driver for 470 and it still wont boot
points to the gfx card to me but could it be the mobo pcie slot?

when i reboot (with 470) the bios says failed overclock reverting etc etc but always tries to restore but doesn't.
There is no overclock on the 470.

If it is the gfx card can anyone recommend a replacement?
470 is ample for my games etc, so a similar card. If it is the mobo, same please recommendations

Hi, no the cpu is not overclocked, no other pc to try unfortunately. The ram is running at 1600mhz as I reset bios to optimized settings then reset it to 1600 when it happened twice in a row.
The psu is an xfx one. can't remember the model number but it was highly recommended 2 years ago 800 or 850 I think..

I have no other rig to try it in so I did a fresh install on a spare ssd. Windows 7 and nvidia driver only. On the restart I get the same BSOD. Stop 0X00000116 and nvlddmkm.sys
Any ideas anyone?
