helped an old granny

I'd be too afraid to help an old lady on the street, she might think me a violent robber and have a heart attack.

when i was at school, i finished early once and was walking home, there was a VERY old woman walking around the rugby field, which had the usual metal fences around. the field was full of huge trenches too ( building work i think )

i had to kinda guide here back around the perimeter of the fence and out the school premises, and waited for a bus with her. she told me how she used to goto school with my dad ( again . . very old and obv lost it )

she got on the bus ( i had to pay ! ) and i walked off back home feeling good that i helped someone... i continued up the hill and came to a straight, and got stuck behind 2 old women walking very slowly... one of them was the one i had just spent the last hour with... i couldn't believe it ! lol

its good to help old peeps out, id like to think that when im that old and diddery... ya know

A old guy was in Comet and was asking for if someone could come around to his house and fit the new TV and DVD he had just purchased. He had paid over £700 and they wanted £90 to set it up. He was having a big argument and I felt sorry for him as Comet are absolute carp.

I met him outside and told him that I would come to his home and set it up. I was with my girlfriend and she was really angry with the way in which this old boy had just been treated.

I got his address and a few hours later set it uo for him. He wanted to pay me but I declined. It feels nice when you can do a favour for someone!!

old people don't like computers

Some of them do - I remember helping a guy in his 60's sort out his internet connection, when we got that done he asks me if i wouldn't mind helping him also setup his X Box360 :D

I remember one time coming home from school I came across an old lady who could barely walk, she had to stop ever step or two to steady herself so I offered to help her home. It was only when I started walking with her I realised she was drunk! :D Took me about 40 mins to get her home. I felt like picking her up and carrying her but I was only little at the time.

It's often very rewarding helping an elderly person out in some way. I always cut some old peoples gardens and that for them and they really appreciate it. Old people are very quick at giving out money to those who help them but I think it is very wrong to accept. I hope that when i'm old and less able that someone will do the same for me.

I'm only 26 but I dont put people in their 60's in the "old guy" category. Both my parents are in their 60s and my mum was gaming/programming before most people on this forum were born.

True, 60 isn't really that old now. My girlfriend parents will be 50 soon, I doubt that when her dad is 60 he'll be a technophobe, don't think he could be seperated from his Sony LCD tv when he got it!
